CSEA MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is simple: to represent our members as best we can in any way we can; and to continue our role as a leader among labor unions.

To accomplish these goals, we will promote and protect union democracy. We will defend workers' rights. We will improve the quality of our members' work life. We will organize workers and represent them in the best, most effective manner possible.

As a labor union, we are committed to excellence in this work. We are committed to treating our members as our most important asset.

Because the union is the sum of its members, we will promote member participation in the union.

We will efficiently use our members' dues money.

We will negotiate the best contracts we can and enforce these contracts.

We will effectively use legislative and political action to improve contracts, work life and laws affecting our members.

We will train our members, leaders and staff.

We will communicate and process information important to our members and the union.

We will strive to secure a safe work environment for all our members.

KEEP YOUR TAX DOLLARS IN ERIE COUNTY

When your motor vehicle registration is due for renewal, save time by using the green envelopes. You will also be retaining CSEA workers at the Auto Bureau and increasing the revenue for Erie County. By using our motor vehicle representatives to process your registrations, a greater percentage of the fee is retained for our county's use. The green envelopes are pre-addressed to a Buffalo office, whereas the pink ones have an Albany address. These envelopes will be available at our next Erie Unit General Membership meeting on Sept. 26th at the Hearthstone Manor or you can click on the link below to request one be sent to you.

This is an opportunity for me to "get the message out" to the members. That message includes not shopping at non-union or anti-union stores such as Walmart. It is so important to keep everyone in our "union family" working. From the cars you drive to the shoes on your feet - BUY AMERICAN!

Also, you have elected union officers to represent you. These same union officers represent you to the elected public officials who seek union endorsement. That endorsement is only as good as the votes behind it. Please register and then vote! Let's put some muscle into the endorsements we give!

Yours in Unionism,
Ann Marie Hawes
